"The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall is more supple and elegant, with terrific up-front charm and complexity already present. Revealing a deep purple color, it's full-bodied and concentrated, with classic Napa Cabernet Sauvignon notes of cassis, leafy herbs, flowers, and lead pencil. Tasting notes

Dark ruby-purple, this wine has deep, alluring aromas of blackcurrant and black plum that are layered with expressive notes of dark chocolate, espresso, and perfume of lavender. Supple, concentrated, and seamless, the palate displays vibrant fruit with undertones of tilled earth and sea salt. Firm, integrated tannins provide structured backbone to the opulence of the wine, finishing with lasting, powerful impression.

Located just above the eastern edge of the Rutherford appellation at 790 feet, Sacrashe provides a profound expression of what hillside Cabernet Sauvignon can be.

Challenging Soil Conditions

Extremely limiting volcanic tuff soils are mixed with rock and lie over a structure of bedrock. These challenging conditions yield fruit that is rich, dense, earthy, and opulent.

Unique Climate

The cooling effects of Lake Hennessey, combined with southern sun exposure, result in additional berry complexity that is reflected in the wine's dense fruit flavors.

Vintage Notes

This near perfect growing season began in late February. Our Spring weather was mild, and allowed for extended flowering that produced very uniform grape clusters. Temperatures throughout Napa remained steady and warm during the majority of summer and fall, without any heat spikes, making for a long and unhurried harvest. The resulting wines are incredibly smooth and polished, with magnificent texture and color.
