Aged in 75% new French oak (mostly Taransaud), it delivers scents of cassis, herbal shadings like bay leaf and sage, cedar, dark chocolate and vanilla. It's full-bodied, firm but ripe and velvety, then shows more of a silky, dusty edge on the finish."

This impressive vintage of 1873 opens with powerful, brooding aromas of sweet tobacco, anise, blackcurrant, clove and cedar. On the palate flavors of dark cherry, black olive and sous bois combine with densely structured tannin for a long, extracted, earth-driven finish.

Our 2020 Coeur opens with aromas of ripe raspberry and violet, layered with warm barrel spice. Rich black plum and black cherry are at the fore of a solid core of fruit that dominates the palate, while an underlying minerality of pencil lead compliments the bold, firm texture and full body.

The 2017 Kathryn Hall is deep, dark ruby in color and elegantly balanced with layered aromas of concentrated blackberry, freshly turned earth, and a hint of warm, spicy oak. The palate is fruit-forward with underlying notes of rich cocoa and leather. Layers of black fruit, nutmeg, cassis and brooding earthy notes are abundant.
