HALL ST. HELENA
HALL ST. HELENA
HALL Wines has two Napa Valley properties open to visitors: HALL St. Helena, a 33-acre estate on Highway 29 in St. Helena, and HALL Rutherford, a private hillside estate and cave in the Vaca Mountains. Both offer guided tours and seated tastings by reservation. St. Helena hosts walk-up-scale experiences daily for up to six guests; Rutherford is entirely private and suited to small groups and milestone occasions. HALL also hosts corporate events, group buyouts, and private celebrations at both properties.
Reservations are required at both locations. Book at least a few days ahead in peak season (May–October and harvest); same-day availability is sometimes possible by phone at 707-967-2626.
HALL St. Helena sits on the historic Bergfeld Vineyard at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains, on a property that has been making wine since 1885 — first as Bergfeld Winery, later as the Napa Valley Co-op, one of the valley's primary winemaking facilities through much of the last century. Guests are greeted by Bunny Foo-Foo, Lawrence Argent's 35-foot stainless steel rabbit, and the property holds more than 35 works of contemporary art.
Reservations are recommended, though walk-ins are welcome. Tastings begin at $45 per person, while tours begin at $60 per person. Guests can also enhance their tasting with a selection of culinary pairings, including artisan cheese, Sonoma charcuterie, house-made seasonal pizza, Cabernet-infused chocolates, and California Osetra caviar.
Reflections of the Valley Bar Tasting — $45 per person, 45 minutes
A relaxed standing tasting at HALL’s modern bar featuring a curated flight of award-winning Cabernet Sauvignons and vineyard views. This is a great option for guests looking for a shorter tasting experience or those who want to leave plenty of time to explore the property. The experience accommodates up to eight guests. Members and Partners receive complimentary tastings for up to four guests, with additional guests at $45 each.
The Signature Tour & Tasting — $60 per person, 90 minutes
A guided introduction to HALL St. Helena that brings together the property’s history, contemporary art, vineyards, and approach to precision winemaking. Guests explore the estate and winemaking facilities before settling in for a seated wine tasting. The experience is designed to offer a deeper look at what makes HALL unique, from the historic Bergfeld property to its modern winemaking practices.
Cabernet Collector Experience — $90 per person, 90 minutes
Set in the historic Bergfeld winery’s Founder’s Cellar, this elevated tasting focuses on HALL’s most acclaimed and limited-production Cabernet Sauvignons. Guests enjoy a seated tasting while exploring the influence of Napa Valley terroir, winemaking technique, and vintage on each wine. This is an ideal experience for Cabernet enthusiasts and collectors.
The Platinum Experience — $200 per person, 90 minutes
An exclusive private experience centered around HALL’s Platinum Collection. Guests enjoy a private tour and tasting featuring the Platinum wines, with a customized food pairing designed to complement each wine. This is HALL St. Helena’s most elevated tasting experience and is available by appointment only.
Members Lounge — complimentary for members. HALL Wine Club Members can enjoy time in the Members Lounge, an exclusive space designed for members and their guests. The lounge offers a relaxed setting to enjoy HALL wines while taking in the property and its surroundings. Reservations are required.
Food pairings can be added to any tasting, making it easy to turn a wine tasting into a more complete food-and-wine experience. Current options include artisan cheese, Sonoma charcuterie, cheese and charcuterie, seasonal house-made pizza, Cabernet-infused chocolates, and California Osetra caviar. The seasonal pizza pairing is available daily from 12–3 p.m.
HALL St. Helena is open 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m. at 401 St. Helena Highway. Guests must be 21 or older to participate in wine tasting experiences.
Standard tasting experiences at HALL St. Helena are capped at six guests. For anything larger, HALL books private experiences rather than seating groups together in the public tasting spaces.
Groups of 7–14: Private tastings at HALL St. Helena, hosted in the Bergfeld building. Semi-private groups use Peterson's Loft upstairs; fully private groups use the Founder's Cellar downstairs.
Groups over 14: Handled as custom private events at HALL St. Helena.
HALL does not host weddings or wedding ceremonies.
Several HALL St. Helena experiences include a food component, including the Signature Tour, Cabernet Collector, and Platinum experiences. Guests can also add a food pairing to any tasting for an additional charge, with options including handcrafted Cabernet-infused chocolates from Le Belge, artisan cheeses from award-winning California creameries, Sonoma charcuterie from Journeyman Meat Company, cheese and charcuterie, seasonal house-made pizza featuring produce from our organic culinary garden, and sustainably farmed Tsar Nicoulai Osetra caviar served with traditional accompaniments.
Seasonal pizza is available Monday through Friday from 12–3 p.m. Guests are also welcome to bring their own food and enjoy a picnic in designated outdoor areas throughout the property. While HALL St. Helena does not have a full-service restaurant, our kitchen prepares a variety of food pairings available for purchase. We can also accommodate dietary restrictions with advance notice; please let us know about any dietary needs when making your reservation.
The Member's Lounge allows guests to picnic and bring in their own food. Bottle service is also available.

Guests who do not drink alcohol, including designated drivers, are welcome to visit and may inquire about non-alcoholic options when making a reservation or upon arrival.
Wine tasting experiences are for guests 21 and older. Guests under 21 may be permitted to accompany a party in certain areas of the property; please contact HALL in advance to confirm whether children or other guests under 21 can be accommodated for your specific experience.
